Maximum safety in emergencies – with outdoor LED drivers from Inventronics

Technical Application Knowledge: From practice, for practice

Emergency lighting systems are designed to continue to provide sufficient lighting in the event of a power failure or an emergency situation where the main power supply is interrupted. Their primary purpose is to ensure people’s safety – by enabling the orderly evacuation of buildings and providing guidance in dark environments.

Especially in safety-relevant areas, emergency lighting is an essential part of a building’s infrastructure. Regular testing, maintenance, as well as compliance with applicable standards are crucial to ensure that emergency lighting systems function reliably when needed most.

That’s why it is extremely important that all the components – especially LED luminaires and LED drivers – fully comply with the relevant emergency lighting standards. The EL mark (for Emergency Lighting) confirms that the product meets all relevant standards and fulfills the specific requirements of various emergency lighting systems.

Your safety. Our priority.
At Inventronics, we understand that reliable emergency lighting during power outages or critical events is vital for protecting lives. For this reason, our OPTOTRONIC® OUTDOOR LED drivers are designed and tested to meet the strictest emergency lighting standards, helping you to deliver compliant and safe solutions.
Outdoor LED drivers, such as our OPTOTRONIC® 4DIM and DEXAL G2 series, are specially developed for use in emergency lighting scenarios and fulfill the relevant standards for both AC and DC operation. In doing so, they make a decisive contribution to safety in outdoor areas and high-bay applications – reliable, standard-compliant, and future-proof.

Certified for Emergency Lighting (EL)
We are proud that our drivers bear the EL mark, demonstrating full compliance with standards such as IEC 61347-2-13 and IEC 60598-2-22 for both AC and DC emergency operation.

Key product features at a glance

  • DC Detection & Emergency Mode
With the Tuner4TRONIC software, dimming levels in emergency operation can be easily defined, for example automatic dimming to 15 % once a DC supply is detected.
  • Compatible with central battery systems
Suitable for operation in the 176 to 276 V DC or 198 to 264 V AC input voltage range – ideal for use in central battery systems.
  • Output power limitation in DC mode
The output power is automatically limited to 75 % to prevent overheating – no manual configuration required.
  • Robust protection options
The use of external DC-rated fuses and surge protection devices ensures consistently high operational safety.
